Celebrate the "Green" Way
If you ever wanted to start living an eco-friendly life- what better day to begin than Saint Patrick's Day? On a day dedicated to all things green- why not also focus on the environment?If you are hosting a Saint Patrick's Day party at your apartment, here are some tips to really live "green":
1) Buy in Bulk
If you are entertaining guests tonight- try to buy in bulk. This is more cost effective in the long run and also conserves resources, like plastic and cardboard, when you buy one large package or carton versus a series of small ones.
2) Save Uneaten Food
After the party- be sure to wrap any uneaten food and eat the leftovers later! Don't waste food!
3) Put Out a Recycling Bin
Always make a recycling bin or receptacle visible to guests when they enter your home. So many products- bottles, cans, paper plates- can be cleaned and then recycled.
4) Decorate the Green Way
If you want to spruce up your apartment for your Saint Patrick's Day get together- a great way to decorate is to buy a plant! Some plants, like Spider Plants, even live better in apartments. Look through our past blog posts to get an idea of what plant you should buy depending on your lifestyle.
